Delhi University/ Indraprastha University MBBS/ BDS Admission 2018: Faculty of Medical Science, University of Delhi is organizing counselling for MBBS/ BDS course admission based on NEET 2018 scores. In Delhi, there are 3 Medical (MBBS) college and 1 Dental college. Here, we are providing information regarding eligibility, seat reservation, tentative counselling schedule, 85% MBBS/ BDS quota seats in Delhi. For the admission in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), you must appear in the National Testing Agency/ CBSE NEET 2018 entrance test.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) & Faculty of Medical Science University of Delhi shall invite online application from student appearing in NEET-UG 2018 and are qualified in the exam.

For the registration process, you have to visit official website ipu.ac.in and click on “Admission 2018”, download the information bulletin, notification for MBBS/ BDS admission 2018.

MBBS/ BDS Course Eligibility 2018

Age Limit: Minimum age limit of the applicant must be 17 years on or before 31 December 2018. If you are completing 17 years on 1st Jan 2019 or later then you are not eligible for NEET 2018 entrance test. (Kindly check the minimum age limit requirement in the official brochure issued by National Testing Agency or CBSE).

Maximum Age Limit: The applicant must also check maximum age limit allowed for NEET UG 2018. As per the Supreme Court (Age 25 years rule last year was taken back by CBSE due to Hon’ble supreme court. But this year, the maximum age allowed is 25 years for General Candidate as on 31 December 2018, the upper age limit is relaxed for SC/ ST/ OBC candidate ( 5 years). Education Qualification: 

Indian Nationals/Overseas Citizen: The applicant must have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system conducted by the C.B.S.E/ Council of the Indian School Certificate Examination/ Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi with required subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-Technology and English from the recognized schools conducting regular classes situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi only, will be eligible for admission.

Domicile: The candidates who have studied 11th and 12th standard through regular classes from a recognized school within the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Only are eligible to apply.

Subjects: You must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English separately.

Percentage: You must have score minimum percentage  50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio- technology.

General Candidates: 50%
SC/ ST/ OBC Candidates: 40%
PH-General Candidates: 45%
SC- PWD /ST- PWD /OBC- PWD: 40% marks

NEET 2018 Eligibility

The candidate has to score minimum cut-off marks for the MBBS/ BDS Eligibility.

The qualification percentile in National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2018) is given below

  • General Candidate: 50 percentile
  • OBC/ ST/ SC: 40 percentile
  • UR-PWD category: 45 percentile
  • SC- PwD, ST- PwD & OBC- PwD candidate: 40 percentile

The candidates who do not qualify the NEET-UG-2018 are not eligible for MBBS or BDS admission.

In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to qualify the NEET-2017 exam and to obtain minimum of marks 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-2017) conducted by CBSE for admission to MBBS/BDS courses held for the academic year-2017. However, in respect of candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile for UR-PwD and 40th percentile for SC- PwD, ST- PwD & OBC- PwD candidates.

List of Dehli MBBS Colleges & Seats

There are three MBBS Colleges in Delhi. All these three colleges are affiliated under the University of Delhi. At the time of counselling, you need to choose the seats (fill your preferences) for MBBS admission. In the LHMC (Lady Hardinge Medical College) only female candidate are allowed for admission.

The three medical colleges of Delhi University are given below:

  1. Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC)
  2. Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC)
  3. University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS)

Duration of Course: The MBBS Course is 4 years and 6 months, followed by one-year compulsory rotating internship training.

List of Delhi BDS College

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course admission in Delhi is available only in one dental college. The student can download the official brochure for more detailed information.

Duration of Course: The BDS Course is of 4 years, followed by one-year compulsory rotating internship training.

Seat Matrix & Reservation

Total 600 MBBS seats are there in 3 MBBS colleges, The Maulana Azad Medical College have maximum 250 MBBS seats, Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) has 200 MBBS seats (only for female candidates) and, University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) hs 150 MBBS seats. Below table contains 15% AIQ Seats (reserved for 15% ALL INDIA QUOTA Counselling conducted by MCC DGHS), and rest 85% seats to be filled on the basis of Delhi NEET 2018 merit list, You must also check seats reserved under the central pool scheme (CPS).

Category wise Seat Reservation

Here is the caste/ category wise seat reservation rule for Delhi MBBS/ BDS admission 2018.

Scheduled Caste: 15% seats are reserved for the SC category candidates
Scheduled Tribe: 7.5% seats are reserved for the ST category candidate
Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27% seats are reserved for OBC category candidates
Persons with disabilities (PWD): 3% seats are reserved for PH candidate.
Armed Forces Personnel (C.W.) category: 5% seat reserved

85% Seats Merit List & Rank

University of Delhi & IPU doesn’t conduct separate entrance test for 85% seat quota. The candidate appearing in the NEET-UG 2018 and are domicile of Delhi, who are eligible shall be included in the 85% seat quota counselling. The Merit cum Rank list of NEET 2018 for Delhi is based on the performance in NEET-UG 2018.

Delhi NEET 2018 Counselling Process, Fill Form

Faculty of Medical Science, University of Delhi & IPU conducts counselling for MBBS/ BDS admission 2018. The process of counselling, registration, list of document & certificate requires is given below. Note: You have to check official website (http://www.fmsc.ac.in) for latest news & updates.

Counselling Process: The eligible candidate shall be called for counselling as per schedule (MBBS/ BDS) in a college (LHMC/ MAMC/ UCMS/MAIDS).

Note: The MAMC & UCMS are co-educational colleges and LHMC is exclusively for female students. Male Candidates would be entitled to opt for either MAMC or UCMS only being co-educational colleges.

Documents & Certificate Required

Below are the important list of documents you have to produce at the time of counselling/ admission.

a) NEET-UG 2018 Admit Card
b) NEET UG 2018 Marksheet/ Score-card
c) Online registration form of Counselling filled at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) website
d) UIDAI Aadhaar Card
e) 10 & 12th Class Marksheet
f) 10th Class certificate for your DOB proof.
g) 4 passport size photograph
h) Certificate from the Principal of the School on prescribed proforma available at faculty website: www. fmsc.ac.in, however, in case of qualifying examination from Patrachar Vidyalaya or National Institute of Open Schooling, this certificate has to be signed by the controlling authority of Patrachar Vidyalaya/NIOS.
i) Recent Character Certificate issued by the Principal of the last school attended or any Gazetted Officer.
